So I am sorry for the lack of posting on my behalf. I have rolls of film and disposable cameras that still need to be developed from our trip but I am piss broke. In the mean time I have left Brisbane and currently back in Cairns for a bit, hanging with family and friends and just ehh going with flow. So yesterday Josie and myself originally decided to shoot in this building that is currently being knocked down but we saw a sign that read Asbestos, so we weren't sure how safe it would have been but we still attempted to climb over the fence but little peeping Tom's were gawking so we moved on to another abandoned house and had some fun.

Hey Guys, so it's been a while since I last updated, as you would know from Alicia's last post they are back working in London now, and so I am continuing my travels around Europe. At present I am in Prague in the Czech Republic, have been here for almost 2 weeks. Prague is a seriously cool place, and before here I was in Italy where is visited Monza, Milan, Venice, Florence, Siena, Verona, Torino and The Italian Alps, which were all amazing! So anyway I finally got some of my film developed yesterday. I'll split them up into maybe 3 or 4 posts because there are quite a few (don't even get me started on the 10,000 odd digital photos rapidly absorbing the space on my hard drive!)
They are from here there and everywhere so bear with me, if your lucky I might even resort to shameful captions. Also, slow hostel internet is the devil, amirite Alicia and Che'?? So I apologise in advance if the next lot aren't up soon, it's because my patience has run out.

Currently homeless and penniless..but we have a job! Che and myself are both working at a funky 80's bar in central London right near St Pauls Cathedral. It is seriously the best job ever but 3 shifts a week on minimum wage aint gonna get us by. So we're still looking for another job as we don't want to come home just yet. Don't know where we will be sleeping by next week but thats a whole other story. I may do another post from this night or just keep adding them into the same post, so keep hanging around! So we're still in Germany, currently staying with our friend Theresa in a small village called Eckersmühlen, just south of Nürnberg. This morning we went on a road trip to go see the Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria which was amazing, although you weren't allowed to take photos of inside the castle, I still did. I haven't done a post in a while and so I figured I would take advantage of the fact that we are surrounded by woods. Also this is the first time I've gotten to shoot Che' for Winters Children as we no longer live apart, I hope you enjoy.

So keeping to my promise here are some more film photos, these were taken in KL and are a pretty similar to the other KL post because we took film and digital and just forgot about the film because I took so long to develop it. I feel I must give credit to Che' for taking half of the tattoo pics, she has done us proud.

Anyway we are still in Berlin, just changed hostel today, we went to a rave in a big warehouse last night knowing once again that we had to check out in the morning, that was fun. Now we are in a massive 30 person dungeon room, with 24/7 red light district lighting that makes you feel as if you've entered the twilight zone. Good stuff.

Hola Barcelona!

Hi everyone sorry it's been so long since our last post, don't worry we are still alive. We've been having fun in Barcelona for the past couple weeks. There are so so many photos that we haven't even started to go through yet from KL, London, Barcelona and everywhere in between. We will get there eventually, promise. Alicia will do a London post soon.

So we touched down in Amsterdam early this morning/last night (for those in AUS or elsewhere it's 9.30 pm here) and all we can say is why is life so funny.

Since we only decided to go to come here the day before leaving Barcelona we had to book whatever last minute accommodation was available... which in our case was a camping ground an hour out from Amsterdam that isn't even on the map or able to be picked up with a GPS or have a phone number that actually exists hahaha, but seriously.
After the first night arriving in Barcelona (which is a whole other story) we made a promise to never again travel at night, and so what do we do... book a flight that gets into Amsterdam and 12am. Clearly we don't keep our promises. Anyway its nightime in a foreign country, thought we had arrangements to get to our hostel (AKA Camping ground in the middle of nowhere) down packed. But of course that didn't work out.
After a million years we found the place and because we arrived outside opening hours we had a note left for us at the reception. So that was all okay, besides the fact that there was a massive locked gate we needed to get through first. Once again, awesome.
Here we are... in (not) Amsterdam locked outside a random gate at 2am in the middle of the woods, freezing with all our shit, so so much fun. After a while about 10 guys arrived and then 3 more on top of that. We had a lighters and scissors conveniently placed in our pockets, but it was okay though because they were locked out too.
Anyway we got in eventually after they picked the lock. Now we are in a little cabin with no food, money or showers hahaha why is life so funny.

Anyway back tracking now... the photos in this post are from a shoot we did in Gaudi's Parque Guell in Barcelona. It was so so amazing. We miss Barcelona.

SO finally here is the Yasi post I promised, well if you can call it that... I don't really like taking photojournalism type photos mainly because I am no good at it, but yeah with that said here are a couple of photos I took during/around the time before/after cyclone Yasi (in chronological order) hope you weren't expecting anything super sensational (I have heaps of photos much more suiting/photojournalism styled...council workers clearing trees and the like but I kind of really hated them so they will never be seen)

Yesterday I got to shoot with my two good friends Olivia and Kate Morrow. We did the shoot out at this abandoned/haunted house in Mudgeeraba. Lots of spiderwebs and gross bugs and creepy drawings on the walls oh and annoying people who decided they wanted to come visit the house the same time we were shooting, but we did it so I hope you enjoy / this is only part one.

Ahh at the very last minute, my brother flew down from Cairns on his birthday so we could hang one last time / go to good vibrations which was a fail...aha but while dad was partying at the good vibrations festival last night, my brother Jarreau and I got to hang one last time before he flew out the next morning. This would have to be one of my favourite nights with my brother, inhaling the fresh herb and talking about our previous experiences with illegal substances, while I took photos. Mum and Dad if you are reading this, well I'm sorry, the truth hurts haha I love you Mum, Dad, Jarreau and Lion. I will miss you when I'm gone, Happy Birthday Jarreau!

Sawadee ka ;) sorry for the lack of posting, I have just come back from a month holiday in Thailand, well I got back about 2 weeks ago and have just been lazy and eh just getting back into the swing of things such as work, sorting out my visa and watching mother nature destroy Brisbane. I'm not going to write a big story about my holiday because a) I can't be bothered and b) We drank way to many buckets to remember, but I do know that it had been the best holiday in so long, as I got to spend a month with my mother and brother which had been the longest I'd gotten to spend with them in over two years. I'm only going to upload the photos from my pentax p30 as I can't be bothered to edit my digital photos so I hope you enjoy :)

So anyway Che' is leaving tomorrow. She is going to work at a school in a remote Indigenous community for six weeks until we leave for Europe. In the mean time I won't have anyone to take photos of/will be lonely...

p.s. This jumper is my grandmothers and I love it so much, it is gorgeous quilted silk and it's reversible! (you'll be able to see the other side in digital photos) I am hunting for something similar to have as my travel coat, although so far to no avail...

These photos are Alicia's and were taken when Che' and I went to Brisbane for the last few days to hang out and get our Biometric data taken for our Visas. So anyway Leesh is on a plane now heading to Thailand for a month, and probably wont have immediate access to internet for a bit, so I'm posting this for her!

I gave Alicia a film SLR for her early Christmas present so she could have it in Thailand.

This is the first roll of film from her camera, I love them (and the fact that the camera actually works) So much so, that I now want her lens instead of mine haha. But anyway enjoy, and have fun in Thailand Alicia. Take lots of photos.

So here are some more film photos, I have decided that my budget will allow me to develop one roll of film each week and I'm going to make that day a Monday for no logical reason at all.

Anyway these photos are accidentally double exposed, I didn't realise the film I put in my camera already had photos on it taken over a year ago but anyway it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Although I think I may have stressed out the lady at chemmart a little. she didn't quite know what to do so she waited until I came back to ask if I wanted them printed. It was a little cute and she was nice but also kind of annoying because she spoke to me like I was a child (in her defense I was wearing a pair of overalls and a backpack)

p.s. I lied. My budget totally doesn't allow for this kind of spendature as well as it doesn't allow for many other things such as clothes, food and running water...so $7.50 a week, I guess I should stop buying fancy gourmet food for my cat huh?

Sorry it has been ages since I last posted, so here is a little something to let you know i''m still alive!
Below are a few snaps from the first test film I took on my new slr. I'm very happy everyting works! Although I don't know how much my savings will like all my money being spent on film and developing :'( I rode my bike into town especially to get them developed and then my tire went flat half way home so I had to walk it the rest of the way in this 30 degree weather! [sigh]
Well anyway there is no consistency in the phots but the first few were just taken around the house and the last few were taken at the EnviroFiesta on Saturday, where we held a market stall selling off all our secondhand junk

So 99% of the time I highly dislike being photographed, I always look painfully awkward. However tonight I was faced with a dilemma....feeling really inspired/wanting to take some photos but there

was no one to be seen. Sitting in my apartment alone with only my cat Marley for company. I wasn't exactly left with many options. So eh here are some self portraits and other miscellaneous stuff around my place.

so I just couldn't decide on which ones to post hence the reason there are a billion of them.

Okay so I may have lied in the last post, because clearly this isn't Angus and Julia Stone, this is Che'. However, I didn't lie about getting lazy and not posting Pt 2, don't fret though it's coming sooner rather than later.

I took this photo a while ago and just remembered it existed.

Also, we recently did an interview with the lovely ladies at The Vintage Independent and they have just featured us on their blog so check it out :)

Oh and I stole the title off Megan Washington's album, I think she is very funny.

Angus and Julia pt 1

So a couple of weekends ago we went to see Angus and Julia Stone play at the Botanic gardens, i've been meaning to do a post on this but

haven't gotten around to it until now! Well anyway I'm going to do this in two parts, Part 1. aka this post, which is of some photos i took at

the concert and Part 2. aka the next post, which will be of the photos of A+J. I'm doing this, a) because i might get lazy and not post the

second half until tomorrow and b) the photos are not consistent or complimentary to each other.

p.s. Angus and Julia were of course amazing as ever, pretty much the cutest thing going :)

Hi there, sorry it has been so long since our last post! I have a few things lined up and hopefully they will be up by the end of the week, promise!

I love these, they really stood out to me because I have wanted to take photos with smoke bombs for ages, love them. Like everything on Johnnys bird they are so beautifully trashy.

After seeing The Runaways for a second time due to falling in love with it Tabitha and myself felt the urge to tribute a shoot to one of the golden queens of rock and roll, Joan Jett. As I've blogged previously go see the movie if you haven't. You will walk out of the cinema wanting more and to start a rock band with your no talent singing voice.

Splendour In the Grass 2010

3 words: SPLENDOUR WAS AMAZING

Every artist I saw was amazing, backstage was amazing, the gold bar was amazing, everyone was amazing! So the photos I took from splendour were gay and boring except for the polaroids but I don't own a scanner they will be for another time but merr. I apologise for my lack of posting poor josie has been posting all by herself ! Driving home from splendour I saw the most cutest forest so on wednesday me and the girls are heading up there to play and take some photographs. I'd say more about the best 5 days of my life to make you all loathe in self pittyness but I will save that for when I finish editing the footage I filmed at splendour.

So to distract us from our Splendour blues, Che' and I spent the weekend listening to The Strokes at the beach/lagoon. (not that it was even a remotely adequate substitute to Splendour in the grass) So anyway here are a couple of photos I took at the beach. TRIANGLE is a video work done for the book ‘Black Material’ which showcases Robert Knoke’s artwork.
Curator Jens Karlson asked me to make a short animation and get Robert Knoke’s black and white artwork as base for video. I chosed to create tense harmony between geometrical forms and organic movements. Combustion helped me to expand possibilites of Black material with his strong music and sound design.

Hey there, i thought i would share with you one of the many brilliant photoshoots from ilovefake.

This one is photographed by Letty Schmiterlow featuring models Danny Reed and Daisy Davidson.

I have to say ilovefake has got to be one of my favourite magazines of all time, heres why...

One: It is free and easily accessible (we don't get all the great magazines where i live because it's shit, i usually have to buy them online at magnation)

Two: It continually manages blow my mind.

Three: Each issue is simply amazing and inspiring and i love the way they focus on youth culture and support amateur and up and coming artists. It makes it beautiful and raw.

This editorial is from the latest issue, The Grunge Issue which you can download from their website.

The reason i love this one isn't particularly for the styling, i'm actually not the biggest fan of it, but there is just something about the atmoshere, the colouring. I think they are just the type of aesthetics i am drawn to. It might also have something to do with my current fetish for all things astrological. Thats probably it, i freaking want planet stickers for my wall.

About three months ago on my shitty blog that is now deleted I posted the trailer of The Runaways that I repeatedly watched as I was so fucking eager to see it. But AHHHHHHH it was so much better than what I thought it would be. I'm sure you've already heard, read and watched about it, so I'm not going to say anymore but watch the film if you dig the whole 70's sex, drugs, and rock & roll scene. In my opinion Stewart and Fanning did a hell of a good job portraying the real Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. So heres a clip of the original band The Runaways singing Cherry Bomb and a few stills from the film / this made me realise I hate my life hahah merrr ):
